The food industry, which is the major reason for our obesity, is once again being shown to the cause major health illnesses.
We were told that Butter was no good for us so they sold us Margarine.
What they did not tell us was the Margarine contained high levels of High Fructose Corn Syrup.
The problem with HFCS is that since it was added to the modern diet 60 years ago, it has been a major cause of obesity, tooth decays cancer, dementia, heart disease, liver failure, and more.
The industry next looked to replace natural sugar with artificial sweeteners.
This week International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health reported research mice feed sucralose in large doses developed blood cancers like leukemia.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest—a nutrition watchdog group that evaluates the safety of food additives has advocated that consumers avoid the Splenda.
As recently as 2013, the center judged the additive as “safe.”
Oh sure you can make the case that the mice were feed large doses that caused the cancers.
Give some thought taken in large does causes higher degree of risk then it stands to reason taken in smaller does still causes a risk, just less risk.
Recent research has shown that even diet soda causes increased stomach fat and is believed to cause a 41% jump in obesity.
Splenda may also increase insulin and blood sugar levels, causing to feel hungry after the sugar high wears off.
Yes there other artificial sweeteners out there that are “now” considered safer, but what’s so bad about natural sugar.
One teaspoon of table sugar contains only 16 calories, what the big deal.
You replace sugar with one teaspoon of honey that has 22 calories.
While honey may have more calories, people may actually use less of it, since it is both sweeter and denser and offers other health benefits than table sugar.
